The Contract Register is where you keep a record of all awarded contracts whether live, completed, or terminated. Keeping this register updated ensures you maintain a clear overview of your organisation’s contract activity and reporting requirements.
You can add contracts in two ways:
Importing via CSV file
Entering contract details manually
Log into your Cimple account: https://cimple.uk/login
You’ll find your Contract Register on the left hand side of your buyer dashboard, underneath "Resources"
To add a new contract, click "+ New contract" to the right of the search bar
Select “Add details manually” from the available options
Start by filling in the Contract Name (up to 300 characters) and Opportunity Title
Under Opportunity Title:
If the contract was run and awarded through Cimple, begin typing the name to select it from the dropdown.
If it wasn’t, choose “Other” and manually enter the opportunity title.
Click Next Step.
You can then add your organisation’s unique contract Reference number, contract dates and the contract value. You can also specify the procurement regulation the contract was awarded under (e.g. PCR 2015 or PA 2023)
Now you’re able to upload your contractual documents
Once all required fields are completed, click “Add Contract” to finalise the entry.
If you selected “Other”, a few additional fields appear where you can add in:
Awarded Supplier: Enter the supplier’s name.
Company Number: Enter the supplier’s registered company number to link them to the contract record.
Framework Contracts
If this contract establishes a framework, you'll also be asked to:
Provide the estimated value of the framework.
Add details of the selection process used.
Enter any framework fees (if applicable).
If the contract is a direct award, you’ll need to answer additional mandatory questions related to procurement regulations and justifications.
If you want to upload multiple contracts that were not previously run on Cimple, this is your preferred method. It’s ideal for bulk uploading and keeping a track of all your contracts within Cimple’s contract register.
Click ‘+ New contract’ to the right of the search bar and select “Import from a .csv”
Download the template by selecting “Download CSV Template”
Fill in all required fields, following the template format exactly
Upload your completed file using the “Upload” button
Once you upload your file, you’ll have the option to view a preview of your data
After review, close the preview screen to view the table populated with all your contract data.
Once you’ve uploaded a contract to the register, you can easily update or amend the details at any time.
Go to your Contract Register.
Scroll to the right-hand side of the contracts table.
Under the Actions column, click "View Details" next to the contract you want to edit.
In the contract detail view, update any fields as needed
You can also upload multiple documents to the contract here. Accepted file formats include: PDF, Excel,Word, ZIP
Once all changes are complete, click “Save Changes” in the bottom-right corner.
Your updates will be instantly reflected in the Contract Register.
This is an area where you can store key documents related to the contract. These documents can be added, edited and removed as-is required. This helps ensure that all supporting information is easy to locate and available to your team.
Select “+ Add a document” button
Click to select files from your device, or drag and drop multiple files at once. This can be PDF, EXCEL, WORD OR ZIP
You can then add a name, description to each of your documents

Once you’ve added or replaced documents, click Save changes to confirm.
The Social Value Metrics section in the Contract Register allows you to record, review, and export the social value commitments and outcomes linked to a contract.
Metric Details
If the procurement was run and awarded through Cimple, the following fields will be pre-filled based on the information entered during the opportunity setup:
Theme – the social value theme selected for the opportunity
Metric – the specific measurement being tracked
Outcome – the intended outcome for that metric
Supplier’s Committed Value – the figure or quantity the supplier committed to delivering when responding to the social value question
Supplier’s Method Statement – the supplier’s written response describing how they will deliver on the commitment
If no themes are displayed (for example, if the contract is not linked to an opportunity), an empty state will appear, allowing you to add a theme.
Adding a Theme
Click Add Theme.
Select a theme from the list provided, based on the UK Government’s Social Value Model.
If none of the standard themes apply, select Other to add your own custom theme.
Once a theme has been selected:
Enter the Metric – e.g. Number of apprenticeship opportunities created or retained under the contract, by UK region.
Enter the Supplier’s Committed Value- this is the numerical or measurable commitment from the supplier.
You can add as many themes as required, or choose not to add any at all.
Editing a theme
Each theme card in the Metric Details tab shows an Edit icon. Clicking this toggles that card into edit mode:
Inherited themes (from a linked opportunity) allow edits to Supplier’s committed value and Supplier’s method statement only.
Custom themes allow full editing of all fields.
Once changes are made, click Save to confirm or Cancel to discard.
Deleting Themes
To remove a theme, click the Delete button next to it. This will permanently remove the theme and its associated metrics from the record.
The Metric Performance tab allows you to track delivery against commitments throughout the contract’s lifecycle. For each metric, you can record:
Delivered value – the actual quantity achieved so far.
Status – choose On Track, Caution, At Risk or Completed to indicate performance health.
Notes – add commentary or evidence for the recorded performance.
To do so:
Click on the edit icon in the actions column next to a metric
A pop-up opens where you can edit the delivered value, status and notes
You can then click on the save button to save the details, which will then populate the table accordingly.
You can update these values at any point, allowing you to track progress over time.
Exporting Social Value Metrics of a Contract
The Metric Performance tab displays live progress against the agreed commitments.
Use the Export button to download all visible metric rows as a CSV file
Terminating a contract allows you to mark the contract as ended before its intended end date. This will update the contract’s status in the register.
Click "View Details" next to the contract you wish to terminate.
Navigate to "Final Actions" in the left-hand menu.
Tick the box “I want to terminate or complete this contract.”
Select your termination reason from the dropdown.
Click “Save Changes”.
Note: Terminating a contract is irreversible, but the contract will remain visible in your register for record-keeping purposes.
Deleting a contract will permanently remove the record from your register.
Warning: This action cannot be undone and should only be used when a contract entry is no longer needed.
Click "View Details" next to the contract you wish to delete.
Navigate to "Final Actions" in the left-hand menu.
Click the red “Delete Contract” button.
